Here's why this will get me in trouble. It's not even Tiger I'm the most angry at. This distinction goes to mistress #2, whose name I refuse to type. Why? Because that's exactly what she wants me, and all the gossip bloggers like me to do. She wants to be famous and doesn't care if she has to settle for being infamous. There is no difference for this woman and the women like her - who I'm sure we're going to be hearing a lot more of. If there were three tigresses in Tiger's jungle, I'm sure there will be more.

Tiger made a bad decision. Tiger made a bad decision and gave a most likely insincere, can everybody just shut up already, apology. I am not one of the people that subscribes to the notion that celebrities - be they pro athletes, musicians, actors, actresses or politicians - need to be perfect role models all the time. Celebrities are human like the rest of us. The major bone I had to pick with Tiger initially was lying about it, or at the very least, trying to hide it. That's not something someone in his position has the luxury of doing. Letterman knew it. Clinton knew it. Jude Law knew it. I'm sure I don't need to continue with that list. Sure, they kept it secret as long as they could, but when the doors of the bedroom flew open, they at least admitted it and apologized. Now that Tiger has joined that club - the bad husbands club - and has fessed up, I feel a little more like he's taking responsibility for his mistakes. He's his wife's problem now, not to mention their kids. I can't imagine what it would be like to fuck up in such a huge way and in such a public way, and have to explain that to two small children.

Should Tiger's wife stay with him? I don't think that's a question anyone buy Elin has the right to answer. If I were in her shoes, I'd like to say I would leave, but in love, nothing's ever as simple as that. Being cheated on, feeling that kind of betrayal, is something I'm not unfamiliar with. I've been cheated on and I've stayed in the relationship. In both of those relationships, the man I was with cheated again, and I stayed again despite my better judgment. Love, even if it's tainted love, is hard to walk away from. I can't even imagine how much harder it would be should there be children involved.

All that said, I'll move on to mistress number two and why I'm so angry about her. Sleeping with a married man is merely the first strike against her, but no more than it is against Tiger. He is the one that should've turned her down. He was the one that had someone at home to answer to. She was not. She shouldn't have done it, but she did and as I said with Tiger, people make mistakes. Accept responsibility, apologize and try to make amends or at least move on. The fact that there has been no apology from mistress #2 is strike number two.

(note: before it's pointed out, I'm aware using a baseball analogy here isn't completely appropriate since Tiger is a golfer, but I don't know shit about golf, so I'll stick with what I know. Thanks. Moving on.)

The third strike against 3 is simple - she used her shameful and hurtful affair with a married man to get her name in the headlines by riding the coattails or another scandal. You see it every time a celebrity gets busted for cheating. People come out of the woodwork claiming they've also had an affair with said celeb, and they always have some sort of proof. Why would they save the proof? So they could sell it.

No one wants to be the first affair. That's too much attention - and too much negative attention, but coming in second is perfect. It's not as shocking so the press isn't as crazy and the mistress doesn't seem like as much of a homewrecking slut since by then, the public has decided the home was already wrecked.

These people - like mistress #3 - are opportunists. They see their chance to play the Hollywood game for a little while, and score a little money in the process, and they pounce on it. They profit off the pain the family is already feeling. If you're gonna out a man you're cheating with, do it when it happens, don't wait until the entire world is looking and strike while the iron's hot.celebnewshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18416017581749191161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2293724460491703238.post-40509475287552586592009-11-27T21:55:00.000-08:002009-11-27T22:05:44.494-08:00In Defense of: The Twilight KidsI think we were all expecting the Twilight backlash, but I figured we wouldn't see it and I therefore wouldn't have to make this post, until at least the next movie. Apparently, that isn't the case. So here we go.

Something that I think has to be remembered when discussing the incredible over-saturation of all things Twilight is that it actually has little do with the kids themselves. They aren't responsible for having their faces shoved down our collective throat on a near constant basis. The public is. Yes, that's right folks - blame yourselves for seeing Robert, Kristen or Taylor everywhere you look because if we didn't pay attention, they would go away.

Now let's talk about Robert and Kristen. Until they signed on to be unexpected lovers, Edward and Bella, they were two indie kids who just liked acting and music. I doubt either of them could have foreseen the level of hysteria that would surround their every move - especially Mr. Pattinson. The guy looks so overwhelmed every time he's confronted by a screaming throng of fans, and let's face it, that's pretty much all the time now. I don't think he'd mind at all if I few of the rabid fans salivating for so much as a glimpse of his famously messy hair backed off just a little bit.

Then there's Taylor. He's seventeen and he has full-grown, middle-aged women asking them to sign panties with his face on them. Do I even need to mention how disgusting and disturbing that is? I suppose I just did, but really, it goes without saying. He has a nice body, yes, but it's still an underage body so, mom's keep your panties on.

Let's not blame the kids in Twilight and New Moon for the monster we have all helped create. They're just actors doing their job. Cut them some slack.

Now, if you'll all excuse me, I'm going to go finish reading Twilight for the fifth time and maybe pop in the movie when I'm done. Team Edward forever!celebnewshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18416017581749191161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2293724460491703238.post-51687765485890910912009-11-25T21:39:00.001-08:002009-11-25T21:54:08.102-08:00The Twilight Saga: New Moon*deep breath* Hi. My name is Crash and I am a Twilight addict. It has been two hours since the last time I searched the internet for gossip about Twilight, the Twilight cast, vampires, werewolves or anything else related to any of those crazy, angsty kids from Forks. I fear I've missed something, and this worries me.

I used to have a normal life. Now The Twilight Saga has turned me in to a twenty-seven year old teenager. It's a problem. I think about Twilight all the time, and from what I understand, there is no cure to my ailment.

Now that I've said all that, I have a confession to make.

I didn't like New Moon.

I'm not saying I hated it. It was an entertaining movie, but hey, what was wrong with the book. I was upset that Twilight didn't stick close enough to the book it was based on, but I understood most of the changes that were made. A film maker has to make certain cuts and change certain things so the story translates better to the screen. I'm okay with that and in time, I came to love the movie. I'm not sure if that will be the case with New Moon.

I won't get into the specific problems I had with the movie because I don't want to spoil it for anyone that actually reads this blog, but honestly, some of my favorite parts of the book were almost completely unrecognizable in the movie. Stephanie Meyer wrote an amazing book and I have to wonder how she felt after watching the finished movie.

Perhaps I am too attached to the book to see the movie as a unique work of art, which is of course what it is supposed to be. It was a decent movie, but I was expecting so much more - and so much more could've been done with it. I hope Eclipse is better handled. It's one of my favorite books in the series and I can't wait to see what they do with it.celebnewshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18416017581749191161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2293724460491703238.post-25670656954778564732009-11-25T10:48:00.000-08:002009-11-25T11:09:59.579-08:00In Defense of: Adam LambertWe've all seen the video by now - the crotch grabbing, the man-on-androgynous-man kiss, the faux blow job - and yes, it was shocking. But get real, isn't that what rock n' roll is all about? It's been happening for decades. Why is it such a big deal now?

I can see why people were upset. The masses are generally uncomfortable when someone pushes the envelope in the name of art or entertainment - especially is homosexuality is involved. The idea of a man having sex with another man is deeply offensive to a lot of people, even if those same people getting their tightie-whities in a bunch have a library full of lesbian porn in their closet. Would there be the same outcry if Madonna had been holding the microphone instead of Adam Lambert? Well, maybe.

Most of the hoopla seems to be about the simulated blow job as opposed to the Madonna/Britney Spears/Christina Aguilera style kiss. People don't want their kids to see this sort of thing, but let's be honest. What age kids are we talking about here? Anyone high school age knows what a blow job is and has likely, at some point, looked it up on the internet and seen the real deal. That's something I don't think parents are understanding. Kids know all about this stuff, whether you want to believe it or not. You can thank the internet for that - and while you're at it, add television, movies and the kids at school for their early sex ed lesson. If they're young enough that they're coming and asking Mommy and Daddy what a blow job is, they aren't old enough to be up at the hour this performance was on. It wasn't late night, but it certainly wasn't family TV hour either.

Are kids growing up too fast? Yes. Is Adam Lambert and his fellow shock rockers to blame? No! Talk to your kids, people. They need to hear this stuff from you so you can explain condoms and STDs and teen pregnancy and all the other evils that come along with making the decision to have sex because guarenteed, that side of the story is a perspective they rarely hear about.

I don't think the controversy can be blamed on the fact that Adam Lambert likes boys and not girls. He crossed the line, but people, that's what performers do. He wants people to talk about him because that talk translates to album sales and that's the bottom line. Adam is getting exactly what he wanted - publicity. If we keep making a big deal out of it, he's going to keep pushing the envelope further and further until there's not even an envelope to speak of. It's his job.

Stop complaining. Stop trying to shield your kids from the real world because like it or not, you can't put blinders on them and keep them innocent and pure forever. And hey, stop hating on the gays. Being gay isn't a choice. If God hated gays, he wouldn't have made them. God loves his children - the boys that love boys and the girls that love girls included. Love thy neighbor - not love thy neighbor unless he's gay.

In the end, the controversy will die down and Adam Lambert will either succeed or fail and it will have nothing to do with his performance on the American Music Awards. Shock will only get him so far without the musical chops to back it up. I think he's got it but only time will tell. I'll definitely be checking out the album, but not because he pretended to get a little oral action from a few backup dancers but because I think the guy can really sing. In the end, that's what matters.celebnewshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18416017581749191161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2293724460491703238.post-74732000070146126552009-11-19T13:16:00.000-08:002009-11-19T13:26:46.798-08:00In Defense of: Tila TequilaI know it's hard to find good things to say about Tila Tequila. She's hot. She's got a nice body and she doesn't mind showing it off. These things are obvious, but maybe it seems that it ends there. Not so.

Tila Tequila makes life in the celebrity gossip game fun. The girl is always up to something and I have to thank her for that. She fills my Twitter time line with all sorts of pearls of wisdom - okay, maybe they're more insane ramblings, but they're fun.

What worries me is that Tila seems to have gone completely off the deep end. I'm not referring to the now infamous strip show on ustream. That isn't really that shocking considering it came from Tila. It was the talking she did before and after. She's clearly not well. In fact, I can't really think of anyone in the entertainment industry I'm more concerned about.

The problem is the backlash against her. She's a real person, folks - crazy as she may be. She has feelings. If she was assaulted by her boyfriend, he needs to be held accountable - not Tila. Domestic violence is a serious issue regardless of who is abused. No one deserves to be hit. The fact that her version of the story is being as hotly debated as it is makes me feel sorry for her - very sorry - and hope for all battered women everywhere that she isn't crying wolf.

Tila Tequila is in the public eye - love her or hate her, you can't ignore her. She isn't goin' away. If she lied about what happened, that puts pressure on all the women out there who have legitimately been abused. They might feel more afraid to come forward because they don't want to face being called a liar.

That said, Tila should be given the benefit of the doubt. If the allegations are true, she doesn't deserve to get beaten up all over again for being brave enough to take him to court.

In the end, I think Tila needs to lay low for a while and have her day in court. Night like last night are only making things worse for her, even if it's entertaining for us. I can take a slightly less exciting Twitter feed if it means the girl gets herself healthy.celebnewshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18416017581749191161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2293724460491703238.post-56339004515247419632009-11-17T14:41:00.000-08:002009-11-17T15:19:40.192-08:00In Defense of: Lindsay LohanThis is the second in my 'In Defense Of' series and I'm honestly not entirely sure where to start. It's obvious Lindsay has problems and needs some serious help. Pointing that out at this point seems a little - or a lot - redundant. This is where my conflict comes in.

Lindsay is a beautiful girl who had such a promising career. It's sad to see how far she's fallen. I hope she's able to pull herself together and start working again on a regular basis. I always liked Lindsay and watching her decline is depressing.

The thing that gets me about this girl is wondering what her life - and her career - would've been like without the influence of a man like Michael Lohan. Releasing audio tapes of their private conversations and claiming it's to help Lindsay is so low, I can't even find a word heinous enough for it. By playing those tapes, or publishing transcripts of those tapes, the media is doing nothing for the girl he's claiming to want to protect, but they're certainly helping his real cause - keeping his name in the headlines.

Lindsay Lohan is still a kid. She isn't a mature, full grown adult. She's never had anyone in her life telling her no. Sure she has that false sense of entitlement we all loathe, but that didn't happen on its own. It's not easy for a girl when a world full of yes suddenly becomes a world full of no.

She's clearly delusional, but I don't really blame her. The hardest thing to do is take responsibility for your own actions. She sees doors slamming in her face but she doesn't understand it's her hand on the doorknob. Someday she'll see that and what she'll need is support and love because it isn't going to be a reality check. The sad question that begs to be asked here is who will be there for her? Not Michael Lohan - unless he can profit from it in some way.

So this is my proposal - stop listening to him. Stop printing the things he says. Stop buying the things he's selling. It begins at audiotapes, but who knows what's next? The man lives to see his name in the headlines and see his haggard face on TV. If the press wouldn't continue to allow him to use his daughter for publicity, he'd be forced to try to make it on his own. So, effective as of the end of this sentence, the name Michael Lohan will never be posted on this blog again - nor will any story related to any information he sells or otherwise profits from in the name of his daughter.

I am a small fish in the celebrity gossip ocean, but it is my hope that others will follow suit. Don't give this man any more publicity. Ignore him, and he'll go away - we'll all be better off for it in the end... especially Lindsay.celebnewshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18416017581749191161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2293724460491703238.post-51758387257728840552009-11-14T10:01:00.000-08:002009-11-14T10:36:02.515-08:00In Defence of: Miley CyrusOn the 23rd of this month, Miley Cyrus turns seventeen. Can we all remember that for a moment? Sure she's made some racy choices, but let's stop looking for controversy where there is none. Pole dancing? Singing on top of an ice cream cart while holding a pole does not count as pole dancing. The part she filmed for the new Sex and the City movie? She's an actress. How is doing her job a controversy.

I know. I know. She's a Disney star and a supposed role model for tweens everywhere. She's also a kid - growing and maturing the same way I did. I did far worse when I was her age. I look back on the things I did when I was seventeen (ten years ago, by the way) and blush and I wasn't even a particularly wild child.

Now bloggers are attacking her little sister, saying her Halloween costumes were outrageous for an eleven year old. It's Halloween. She was not dressed as a dominatrix as some of my peers have claimed, but as a vampire. Sure those costumes are easily confused, but I saw the pictures and completely failed to see the big deal. She was an eleven year old girl being an eleven year old girl.

The claims that we're only a few years - a few cases of Red Bull and Cheetos - away from another 2007 era Britney Spears if little Miley continues the way she's going. To that, I can do little more than laugh. I don't think any of us have to worry about Ms. Cyrus becoming a head-shaving, paparazzi-bedding, umbrella-wielding popwreck via the reformed Britney. At most, I think we might face another dirrrty Christina - grinding in a shower with scantily clad backup dancers, but hey, that worked out pretty well for Xtina, didn't it? And look where she is now - married with a beautiful baby and a pretty normal life.

C'mon, folks. Ease up on Miley. Let her grow and change and explore the options life has given her. Will she crack? Will she endure? Only time will tell. All we do by hounding her and examining her every move for any possible angle to create scandal is put more pressure on a seventeen year old girl who needs anything but that.celebnewshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18416017581749191161noreply@blogger.com
